FAQs

Where we answer your most asked questions about our contemporary wearable art and modern heirloom collections.

Where do your materials come from?

All materials are ethically sourced and supplied by cooksongold.com. Please visit Cooksongold’s online jewellery blogs to find out more about Ecosilver and Fairtrade Gold.

Can you guarantee the quality of your materials?

Yes, all our pieces are hallmarked at the Goldsmiths’ Company Assay Office in London. The hallmark contains five official marks which denote:

  • The sponsor’s mark: proving it’s a Duxford piece
  • The type of metal
  • The metal’s fineness
  • The assay office mark
  • Date of hallmarking

How do I buy your jewellery?

You can:

Do you ship worldwide?

In short, yes! For full details see our delivery information on the Terms and Conditions page.

How soon will I get my order?

Collection pieces are typically delivered in 3-10 working days within the UK. International shipments can vary from country to country so feel free to get in touch via our contact us page or direct by email for specific info about international shipping.

Delivery times of bespoke orders vary depending on complexity, but usually orders can be delivered in 6 weeks from the point of deposit. If you need a quick turnaround, get in touch via our contact us page or direct by email to discuss what’s possible.

How will my order be packaged and sent?

Each piece comes in a luxury branded jewellery box, and all sterling silver pieces are shipped with an anti-tarnish tab to keep them in excellent condition.

UK orders will be delivered for free via Royal Mail Special Delivery (tracked and insured), and international shipments will be sent by courier when an order is placed.

Do you cover customs fees and import duties?

Unfortunately, we do not cover these costs on international orders. If you would like something sent outside of the UK, please review official information on importing goods into your country.

What is your online returns or refund policy?

Please see the Duxford Studios' Refund Policy for full details.

How do I return an item?

Returns are not sent to the address on our ‘Contact Us’ page. To return an online purchase, please contact info@duxfordstudios.com with your order number in the subject line.

Duxford Studios accepts no responsibility for items not received, so please send UK items by insured special delivery, and international items by a tracked service which includes insurance. Please note that the cost of shipping is not refundable, and refunds will be made to the card or bank account used at the point of purchase.

For international returns, please complete a customs declaration form. The goods will also need to be clearly labeled as ‘returned British goods’ to avoid unnecessary customs fees. Any customs fees incurred during return shipping may be passed on to the customer.

Can you make changes to your collection pieces?

Yes, Duxford Studios is dedicated to providing jewellery that perfectly suits your needs, so collection items are customisable, and the sky’s the limit!

Customisation options include, but are not limited to:

  • cast any piece in a different precious metal
  • enhance it with a range of gemstones in a variety of settings
  • change the scale or fit to make it larger or smaller
  • choose the perfect chain style and length for you

If you have an idea for customising a collection piece, get in touch via our contact us page or direct by email to discuss options and pricing. Check out our bespoke commissions page for something completely unique to you.

Can you make a unique piece to order?

Absolutely! Creating bespoke, one of a kind pieces of jewellery is Duxford Studios’ speciality.

We can discuss your needs in person, via phone, video call, email or whichever method suits you. Once you're happy with the commission idea, a 50% deposit will confirm the order. Bespoke pieces take 6 weeks from the point of deposit to delivery, although some commissions can take a little longer. Please note that the piece will not be posted until full payment has been made.

Want to find out more about your designer? Check out our about me page.

Can you make jewellery using my heirlooms?

Yes! Get in touch via our contact us page with details and photos of your heirloom pieces or gemstones and a description of what you would like.

For example, we could cast one of our collection pieces in the metal from your heirloom jewellery, and we could set your heirloom stones into it. We could also use heirloom materials to create something unique and classic that compliments the story of the original piece while suiting your taste, or even something bold and new that would look at home featured on a contemporary jewellery blog - head to our bespoke jewellery page for more information.

Please don't send anything to us until we have spoken to you and confirmed that your heirloom jewellery can be used.

What about engraving?

Yes we do offer engraving. The cost depends on the complexity and scale of the engraving required. Please get in touch with info@duxfordstudios.com for more details.

What warranty do you offer?

We provide a one year warranty on all Duxford Studios jewellery from the date of delivery for faults that arise during normal wear. The warranty will not apply to Duxford Studios pieces that have been worked on by any other jeweller or have been damaged in circumstances beyond reasonable use.

Do you offer repairs, resizing and reconditioning?

All new Duxford Studios pieces are made to last, so your piece should look great for many years. We advise you to read our jewellery care tips to ensure you know the best ways to look after your jewellery.

We do offer repairs, resizing and reconditioning if needed. Please visit the ‘Repairs’ and ‘Sizing’ sections of our Terms and Conditions page for more details.

For reconditioning services, please send an email to  info@duxfordstudios.com with a detailed description of your requirements and photos of the piece to restore its former glory.
